Work Schedule and Route:
- Typically Mon-Fri, 8-12 hour shifts, may fluctuate according to the needs of the business. Normally an early morning start time.
- Expected hours: 50-60 per week
- Route is typically dedicated/local but can change dependent on business needs
FLSA Status: Hourly Exempt

About Us: Evergreen has been proud to be a leader in the used cooking oil and grease recycling industry for over 40 years. It all began with our first facility in Adrian, Michigan. We strive to provide prompt and reliable service, used cooking oil recycling expertise, and a commitment to serving our communities. The used cooking oil, along with other Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG), is brought to our facilities for processing into feedstocks that can be used for renewable fuels production like biodiesel, a renewable, clean-burning diesel fuel alternative. Evergreen offers bundled services to our customers for convenience: Used Cooking Oil Collection, Industrial Byproduct Waste Management, Grease Trap Service, Interceptor Cleaning, Pressure Washing, and Line Jetting.
Summary: The Field Service Technician is responsible for safe and reliable operation of a flat-bed style pickup truck with pump tank and lift gate to collect used cooking oil, deliver and pickup grease bins, install custom collection tanks indoors and outdoors, and provide other extended services like grease trap cleaning and power washing, while providing consistent and quality service to our customers.

- Maintain excellent customer relations by presenting a professional appearance and attitude
- Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Pump grease containers and tanks; ensuring cleanliness of container and surrounding area; notes any damage to container or corral area; properly completes route ticket with customer signature.
- Daily checks of tools, fittings, tanks, lids and equipment that you may need to do your job duties for the day.
- Delivers and picks up grease containers at customer locations.
- Conducts site audits and performs interior and exterior tank installations.
- Performs grease trap cleaning and power washing services.
- Responsible for company equipment, maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Conducts all safety checks and inspections of equipment per company and DOT regulations; operates equipment under local, state, and federal regulations in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes and practices all company safety standards.
- Responsible for completing all company required paperwork and documentation in accordance with company policies (route tickets, vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc.)
- Perform all tasks that may be assigned during operational and non-operational times by the Service Manager.
- Responsible for keeping trucks and tools in like new condition clean and washed daily.
- Responsible for keeping inside of truck clean and like new condition daily.
- Attendance at all daily driver meetings is required
- Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies and procedures (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, vehicle safety checks, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc.).
- Performs required pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after every route.
- Checks to make sure all tools and fittings are on the truck to perform job duties.
- Works with fleet manager and mechanic to schedule routine maintenance as needed
- Notifies management of any tools or fittings missing from truck before starting route.
- Completes all necessary app entries for stops as instructed by IT and Routing Departments
- Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicles; operates vehicles under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.
- Chocks rear wheels of truck and trailer before any unloading takes place. Removes chocks before driving away from delivery.
- Wears PPE at all times as required by company and job specific sites and follows all safety procedures.
- Works with Routing/Operations to prepare for specialized customer site requirements (e.g. are gate keys required, special tools, etc.)
- Maintains miscellaneous vehicle service duties such as checking daily oil, water, fuel, tires, and tank related items.
- Replaces broken hoses, gaskets, pump oils and minor repairs (marker lights, head lights)
- Keeps truck and trailer in like new condition, clean always for safe operations
- Keeps a daily cleaning log
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- License/Certification: Valid CDL C (Chauffeur's) (Required)
- High school Diploma or GED
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Basic computer and phone skills
- Ability to work successfully with a variety of people without making judgements
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence through notes, letters, manuals, reports, email, text, etc.
- Ability to speak and communicate using devices supplied by the Company.
- Able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with public, understand signs in English, respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems
- 2+ years of service-related, Grease or environmental industry experience (Preferred)
- Infrequent overnight travel/stays may be required
- Ability to work early mornings and/or late nights
- Pass substance abuse screening as required by Company Policy
- Agree to random substance abuse screening as required by Company Policy
- Pass Background check as required by Company Policy
- Minimum 1-year experience driving a vehicle larger than a car and pulling a trailer (Preferred)
- Vacuum truck or septic: 1 year (Preferred)
- Route experience within a customer-oriented environment: 1 year (Preferred)
- Delivery route: 1 year (Preferred)
