An automation engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions to automate business processes, optimize workflows, and enhance operational efficiency. This role requires cross-functional technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and close collaboration with stakeholders to transform manual tasks into scalable, automated solutions.

Key Requirements Summary

• Expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing automation workflows using Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Automate, and Copilot Studio for intelligent automation solutions.
• Knowledge of building AI-powered agents and autonomous workflows leveraging Copilot Studio to enhance automation with cognitive decision-making and adaptive capabilities.
• Strong programming skills in relevant languages for Microsoft based automation and integrations.
• Experience with process analysis and translating complex manual workflows into reliable, robust automation pipelines using rule-based RPA with a growing understanding where AI-driven agentic automation can be added.
• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve automation performance, error handling, using Microsoft provided monitoring tools and reports.
• Strong documentation and collaboration skills to work effectively across IT, business stakeholders, and support teams for successful automation adoption and user enablement.
• Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem and governance, including security, compliance, and lifecycle management within the Power Platform environments.
• Commitment to staying current with the latest advancements in AI, RPA, and cloud automation technology to drive innovation and business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation Workflow Design and Development

• Design, build, and optimize automation workflows using Automation Anywhere and Microsoft Power Automate to streamline rule-based and legacy system processes.

• Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable bots and cloud flows that integrate seamlessly with enterprise applications.

• AI-Powered Agent Creation and Management

• Leverage Copilot Studio to build intelligent autonomous agents that provide conversational, goal-driven automation experiences.

• Enable AI agents to reason, plan, and execute multi-step workflows across systems, enhancing decision-making and workflow adaptability.

• Process Analysis and Automation Opportunity Identification

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze current processes for automation potential.

• Translate manual workflows into efficient automated solutions combining deterministic RPA flows and autonomous AI agents for maximum impact.

• Execution Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor automation and AI agent performance using Microsoft monitoring tools.

• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and continuously improve automation efficiency, accuracy, and resiliency.

• Governance, Security, and Compliance

• Implement governance and security controls compliant with organizational standards using Microsoft best practices.

• Maintain audit trails and ensure data protection across automated processes and AI agents.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration and Enablement

• Work closely with IT, business teams, and end-users to gather requirements, communicate solution capabilities, and support automation adoption.

• Provide documentation, training, and change management expertise to facilitate smooth transitions.

This role integrates the strengths of Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio to deliver a hybrid automation strategy that combines robust RPA with intelligent AI agent capabilities, driving operational excellence and digital transformation. Other duties may be assigned.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, RPA development, or AI-powered process automation.
• Proficiency in Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Automate and Copilot Studio, for designing and deploying intelligent automation solutions.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation workflows that integrate with enterprise systems.
• Strong programming skills in relevant languages and frameworks used alongside these platforms, including Power FX, Python, and related scripting tools.
• Familiarity with enterprise process analysis, business requirements gathering, and translating complex workflows into hybrid automation combining RPA and AI agent technologies.
• Experience managing automation lifecycle including testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
• Desire and ability to stay current with evolving intelligent automation technologies and contribute to innovation initiatives.

Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.

Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.

*Compensation Range: *
$84, $126,800.00

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
