Acts as liaison in the EMS community by coordinating and supervising all EMS related educational programs for pre-hospital providers. Actively involved in the delivery of professional EMS outreach, pre-hospital run report quality assurance, protocol and policy development, and trauma development. Manages all fleet vehicles, maintenance, accidents and investigations. Works with quality/population health on community outreach. Responsible for building relationships with community influencers and "gatekeepers" to venues where WVU medicine can prospect and be a part of the solution to change at risk behaviors in the population.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Associate degree
OR
Completion Of ONE Of The Following Programs
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program
- Paramedic Program
- Registered Nurse Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Experience
- Three (3) years of emergency medical services experience.
Preferred Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in emergency medical technology, nursing, business or related field.

- Assists in the provision of optimal transportation services to patients being transferred to or from assigned hospitals.
- Establishes verbal communication links and relays verbal communications to all appropriate patient care representatives.
- Maintains all forms and documentation applicable for the position.
- Accurately enters data and properly maintains the database utilized for the position.
- Assists in the management of base operations.
- Vehicle acquisition: Negotiating pricing and demands with manufacturers. Consideration of the vehicle's job and the load it must carry are required in forecasting and planning fleet purchases.
- Designing and managing maintenance programs: Set preventive maintenance policies based on vehicle type, vocation and geography as it impacts driver safety, saves repair costs, and optimizes resale value.
- Leading safety programs: When an incident occurs, potential negligence and brand damage come with staggering costs to organizations. The incumbent will work to minimize these risks.
