We're growing and strengthening our leadership team with a forward-thinking Financial Controller who will drive financial excellence and continuous improvement across the organization.

Position Overview:

The Financial Controller will lead all core accounting operations, manage a high-performing team, and serve as a key strategic partner to senior leadership. This role oversees timely and accurate financials, compliance with GAAP, automation improvements, and the financial integrity needed to support future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including AP/AR, General Ledger, and Job Cost Accounting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, cash flow reporting, and variance analysis
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes with operations leadership
  • Manage year-end closing, annual audits, and tax coordination
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
  • Enhance accounting systems, reporting tools, and automation strategies
  • Provide financial guidance to leadership for strategic decision-making
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, promoting accountability and growth
  • Support contract review, vendor negotiations, and operational cost management
  • Oversee fixed assets, inventory, WIP adjustments, and revenue recognition
  • Partner with HR on benefit reporting and compensation compliance
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in job cost reporting for project performance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA or CMA strongly preferred
  • 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
  • Experience in construction or job-cost accounting highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and construction financial workflows
  • Advanced Excel competency and familiarity with ERP systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-departmentally
  • Proven track record improving processes, controls, and systems
