Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Consumer Brands Group, Lowe's Business Unit (LBU). Key responsibilities include building proformas and other financial reports, analyzing financial results, and influencing actions to maximize profitability. This position will participate in month-end close responsibilities including activities such as month-end reporting, P&L analysis, and balance sheet reviews. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with marketing to support the stage-gate process for new product development and commercialization. This role provides critical support to the Lowe's sales and marketing teams, delivering customized reporting, profitability analysis, and financial oversight of Lowe's-specific programs and agreements. The incumbent will also lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reporting and will participate in special projects as required.

This position is located in Davidson, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Create, review, and analyze proformas and financial results, while influencing actions to maximize profitability for the group.
  • Contribute to profit optimization through detailed pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Ensure accruals are made in accordance with contracts and properly supported on the balance sheet and revise as necessary.
  • Work to resolve financial issues/discrepancies for the business unit to ensure an accurate P&L.
  • Report on variances compared to forecast, plan, and last year.
  • Validate customer programs / agreements are being upheld.
  • Develop and enhance customized sales reporting to meet the evolving needs of the Lowe's Business Unit, continuously improving existing tools for greater accuracy, efficiency, and insight.
  • Assist the Lowe's Business Unit in preparing consistent and accurate budgets, forecasts, and operating plans.
  • Provide financial insights that align with long term strategic plans toward customer priorities and business objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales and marketing teams to translate complex financial data into comprehensible insights.
  • Participate in special projects as necessary.

Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
FORMAL EDUCATION

Required:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, and business

Preferred:

  • Have a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or business administration with a focus in Finance or Accounting

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Must have at least 4 years of Financial and/or Accounting experience

Preferred:

  • 4+ years actively engaged in a Finance or Accounting role with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience with Complex Financial Analysis, including broad knowledge of accounting/finance practices.
  • Experience working on a project or involved in a project/team environment.
  • Prior work experience with a sales organization is a plus.

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Must have at least one (1) year of work experience using Microsoft Excel, including writing formulas, formatting and sorting data, creating pivot tables, and importing/exporting excel data to and from proprietary software.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools i.e. MicroStrategy
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud and/or OneStream
  • Experience with any legacy reporting systems (OnBase)

Travel Requirements:

  • 10%
