As a salesperson, your primary responsibility will be to generate sales and expand the customer base for the company's food products. You will play a crucial role in promoting and selling various food items to restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, institutions, and other potential customers within your assigned territory. Your goal will be to meet or exceed sales targets, build strong customer relationships, and contribute to the growth and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Generation:
- Identify potential customers and actively pursue new business opportunities within your assigned territory.
- Present and promote the company's products to existing and prospective customers.
- Conduct sales calls, meetings, and product demonstrations to showcase the features, benefits, and quality of the items.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers by providing excellent service and addressing their needs.
- Understand customer requirements, preferences, and market trends to offer personalized solutions and recommendations.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Regularly follow up with customers to ensure their satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
Territory Management:
- Effectively manage and prioritize your assigned territory to maximize sales opportunities.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activities, and industry trends within your territory.
- Provide feedback and insights to the management team regarding market dynamics, customer preferences, and product performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, logistics, and customer service to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
Sales Reporting and Analysis:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales pipeline in the company's CRM system.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analyses to track progress towards sales targets.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to enhance sales performance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in sales, preferably in the food distribution or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of food products, culinary trends, and the foodservice industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers.
- Proven ability to negotiate, persuade, and close sales deals.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage a territory.
- Proficiency in using CRM software, MS Office suite, and other sales tools.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
