AT A GLANCE:

This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights. They work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and transform raw data into meaningful visualizations and summaries that support strategic decision-making.

DAY IN THE LIFE AS THIS MEMORY MAKER:

  • Gather and analyze reporting requirements from business users.
  • Design and build reports using tools such as SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, or Cognos.
  • Develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and manipulate data.
  • Create dashboards and interactive visual reports tailored to business needs.
  • Perform data validation and ensure accuracy and consistency across reports.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and business teams to ensure data relevance.
  • Maintain and optimize reporting systems for performance and scalability.
  • Document report specifications, data sources, and development processes.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on report usage and interpretation.
  • Create and manage analytical tools (e.g., SSAS) to provide actionable insights into key metrics like customer acquisition and operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of DAX and M language.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, or Cognos.
  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology (Jira)
  • Understanding of Pivot tables and Power Query in Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in report development or business intelligence.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate is a plus.

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, in a collaborative team environment within an office setting.
  • Physical requirements such as extended periods of sitting and computer use may be required.
  • Physical requirements such as extended periods of standing may be required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and/or electronically.
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving.
