Reports To: Compost Operations Manager

 Position Summary

We are seeking a physically capable Compost Operations Technician to support our composting facility's daily operations. This role involves hands-on work with organic material processing, equipment and system maintenance. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic.

 Key Responsibilities

• Maintain composting equipment, including water trucks, conveyors, and screening systems
• Perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
• Conduct basic plumbing tasks to maintain irrigation and leachate systems
• Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical and mechanical issues on-site
• Use basic computer programs to log data, track inventory, and monitor system performance
• Assist with facility upkeep, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining safe work areas
• Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations at all times

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus
• Experience operating water trucks or similar heavy equipment
• Basic plumbing knowledge and hands-on repair experience
• Familiarity with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Proven ability to lift and carry heavy materials (50 lbs+)
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• Comfortable working in an environment with organic waste and natural odors

Pay $21 - $23
