Journeyman Carpenter

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of carpentry tasks on commercial and residential projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. As a key contributor, you will work on diverse projects including framing, trim work, roofing, siding, cabinetry, and restoration efforts. Your expertise will help bring construction visions to life while maintaining efficiency and precision throughout every phase of the project.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute carpentry tasks.
• Construct, install, repair, and maintain structures such as walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Perform framing work for walls, ceilings, and floors with metal or wood studs in accordance with project specifications.
• Install trim, cabinetry, doors, siding, stucco, drywall (plastering), and flooring with attention to detail.
• Conduct concrete forming and rebar installation for foundations and structural elements.
• Assist in restoration projects including water damage remediation, mold remediation, and general building repairs.
• Use schematics and technical instructions to fabricate custom components in the shop or on-site.
• Operate CNC machines for precise fabrication when required.
• Ensure heavy lifting is performed safely while adhering to all safety protocols on construction sites.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a journeyman/journeywoman carpenter or in a similar construction role with a strong background in carpentry trades.
• Extensive knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, metal stud framing, roofing, siding, drywall installation (plastering), flooring installation (tile and wood), cabinetry installation, door hanging, and fixture installation.
• Proficiency with hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels), power tools (drills, saws), and construction equipment.
• Experience working on construction sites with a solid understanding of safety procedures and heavy lifting techniques.
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately; experience with CNC or fabrication equipment is a plus.
• Familiarity with restoration industry practices including water damage restoration and mold remediation is desirable.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, masonry work, water damage restoration techniques, and general remodeling is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail; excellent communication skills are essential for team collaboration.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and working at heights; must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
