Graphic Designer – Marketing

Position Overview

The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and executing packaging, print, and digital materials to support Cairnspring's marketing efforts, including creative design development for food service and CPG packaging, as well as pre- and post-production management. They will be comfortable with day-to-day marketing activities, as well as long-term strategy, thriving with tight deadlines, lean budgets, and evolving needs of a growing business. This position reports to the Director of Marketing. Requires some travel.

Position Responsibilities

Planning, Development, and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Director of Marketing and Creative Producer to develop creative strategies that align with company goals
  • Manage timelines, resources, and priorities for multiple creative projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-brand materials delivery
  • In collaboration with Director of Marketing, maintain production calendars, manage design requests and timelines, and oversee printers and vendors

Design

  • Design, from concept to execution, the packaging, print, sales materials, merchandise, and digital content needs for the brand, including social and website
  • Evolve the packaging system to support the creation of new products
  • Responsible for designing sales materials, website, and organic and paid social posts and campaigns

Project Management

  • Work closely with Director of Marketing to create and manage a schedule of graphic design projects, reporting to the team on project status and needs
  • Own the pre- and post-production workflow to deliver production-ready mechanical files, review and approve proofs, coordinate with printers and vendors, and ensure high-quality results
  • In collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager, make content changes and improvements based on performance metrics

Community Building

  • Help define and promote the Cairnspring culture, internally and externally, and ensure a positive work environment
  • Identify potential partners and build relationships with key decision-makers

Skills

  • Creative thinker with excellent visual storytelling and project management skills
  • Deep proficiency in professional graphic design with a focus on packaging and print production

Requirements

  • In-person at Skagit Mill at least one day a week
  • Willingness to travel and work independently on-site in a variety of locations

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Professional Graphic Design experience.
  • Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet departmental deadlines and multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Maintain Confidentiality.
