Working in our manufacturing plant, our Maintenance Technician is vital to the success of our business. Your role will support our Leadership Team by maintaining plant machinery and facilities. Your role will help ensure that our plant is operating at the highest level of efficiency so that we can produce AMazing results for our customers. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Diagnose and correct failures through the proper dismantling, repair, assemble and installation of the complex machinery within a reasonable time.
- Make repairs and/or fabricate in accordance with drawings and/or other specifications with minimal supervision.
- Thorough knowledge of and possess applicable skills in welding, and maintaining hydraulic, plumbing and electrical systems
- Thorough knowledge and use of machine tools, materials, shop practice and equipment including high lift machinery.
- Possess their own hand tools for completion of work assignments
- Maintain all appropriate records and paperwork as directed.
- Maintain the shop and job site in a neat, clean and orderly fashion
- Comply with all plant safety rules and regulation. Correct any safety violations that is needed
- Maintain all lock-out and tag-out safety precautions
- Guide, direct and train others
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1-3 Years' experience in Manufacturing
- This position requires two years apprenticeship or the equivalent on machine repair.
- Preferred qualifications are 2 years of industrial maintenance experience including electrical & industrial troubleshooting and machine repair.
- Excellent work record and attendance is required.

Requirements:
This Maintenance Technician role is an hourly Union role. United Steelworkers is the Union present at the Associated Materials facility in West Salem, and employees should be willing to join the Union after successful completion of the probationary period.
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, this Maintenance Technician role will be classified as "Maintenance Technician B" at hire and pay will begin at $30.81 per hour. Upon successful completion of all "Maintenance Technician A" training and assessment modules, pay will be $31.81 per hour and the employee will be classified as "Maintenance Technician A."
