Forklift operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. This role requires a commitment to safety and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Operate forklifts, including cherry pickers and clamp trucks, to move materials safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse.
• Perform heavy lifting and materials handling tasks as required.
• Assist in shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate order picking and inventory management.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any mechanical issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Build pallets for shipping, ensuring that loads are secure and compliant with company standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with various types of forklifts, including cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and standard forklifts.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as part of daily responsibilities.
• Experience in shipping and receiving processes is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for effective order picking.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• A valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable.
