Location: On-site in Murray Hill, NJ

This summer intern position is within the Opto-Electronic Integration Research Group at Bell Labs, where we are pursuing research into AI-assisted links for performance optimization. The intern project will study AI frameworks that can be applied to circuit design, with an aim to demonstrate feasibility with a hardware prototype.

As a part of our team, you will:

  • Explore AI-assisted techniques for optimizing optical and electronic link performance.
  • Study AI frameworks applicable to advanced circuit design.
  • Develop models and algorithms to evaluate feasibility of AI-driven design approaches.
  • Implement and prototype hardware demonstrating key research concepts.
  • Document findings and present results to the Opto-Electronic Integration Research Group.

  • Must be enrolled in a PhD program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science .

  • Knowledge of analog circuit theory, and IC Design in CMOS or SiGe BiCMOS technologies
  • Knowledge of AI/ML Concepts
  • Hands-on experience and expertise in one of the above domains
  • Programming proficiency in Matlab or Python
