Job Overview
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. This position involves providing compassionate care and support to residents in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. You will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.

Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor vital signs to ensure health stability.
• Support individuals with developmental disabilities and those requiring dementia or Alzheimer's care.
• Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences while ensuring a clean environment.
• Maintain accurate records using EMR systems to document care provided and any changes in resident conditions.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers and mobility assistance.
• Engage in behavior management techniques when necessary to promote positive interactions.
• Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their safety during transportation.

Skills

• First aid certification is preferred for emergency situations.
• Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is highly valued.
• Familiarity with caregiving practices for seniors and individuals with disabilities is essential.
• Knowledge of memory care techniques and the ability to work effectively with clients experiencing dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
• Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living environment for residents.
• Ability to prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements.
• Experience working in group homes or personal care homes is beneficial.
