Element has an opportunity for an
Entry-Level Nuclear Testing Engineer
supports the analysis, testing, and evaluation of mechanical systems with emphasis on fluid dynamics and thermal performance in safety-related applications. The engineer assists in ensuring that nuclear systems, structures, and components meet safety and regulatory requirements by performing thermal-hydraulic analyses, conducting mechanical testing, and supporting engineering evaluations under the direction of senior staff.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000/yr DOE

Responsibilities

• Assist in thermal and fluid systems testing to evaluate performance, reliability, and

safety margins of nuclear components and systems.

• Conduct basic thermal-hydraulic calculations and simulations to support safety analyses.
• Support mechanical testing of safety-related systems, including stress, fatigue, and

pressure testing of components.

• Collect, analyze, and document test data to support safety basis evaluations and design

verification.

• Assist in reviewing engineering design changes for thermal and fluid system impacts on

safety.

• Collaborate with senior engineers on hazard analyses, accident scenarios, and system

response modeling.

• Prepare technical reports, data summaries, and documentation in compliance with NRC,

DOE, and industry safety standards.

• Participate in safety audits, inspections, and corrective action efforts related to

mechanical and thermal systems.

Skills / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
