QUALIFICATIONS

Our busy Cancer Center is seeking a energetic, outgoing, dependable Medical Receptionist, bilingual preferred.

Two-years previous work experience in a medical office required. Characteristics should include strong work ethic, professionalism, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, computer skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, customer focus, and teamwork and collaboration skills.

JOB DUTIES

· Professionally greet and check-in all visitors at the front desk.

· Confirm with patients their appointment type and study visit. Verify if patient has fasted, as applicable.

· Escort patients to rooms, provide registration packet, and notify study coordinator and/or investigator of patient's arrival and status.

· Call no show patients to inquire as to reason for missed appointment and reschedule patient.

· Answer phones professionally, direct caller to appropriate staff, and take detailed messages.

· Call patients daily to remind them of their appointments for the next day.

· As a reminder, give patient clinic charts the day before to applicable Study Coordinator for subjects requiring a telephone visit.

· Schedule patients for the proper appointment.

· Schedule new incoming referrals

· Send outgoing referrals and follow up with referrals

· Check phone messages every morning.

· Maintain current study source documents and informed consents "originals," and have copies available for use in clinic charts.

· File documents.

· Monitor office equipment and supplies and place orders as needed

· Maintain clean appearance for the office.

· Direct incoming mail and process outgoing mail in a timely manner.

· Maintain monthly chart rounds

· Maintain confidentiality of our clients in compliance with HIPAA.

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Pay: DOE

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Medical Office: 2 years (Required)

Typical start time:

  • 8AM

Typical end time:

  • 4:30 pm
