Float Direct Support Professional

In an effort to provide additional support for our residential programs, Cardinal has developed a Rochester-based Float DSP team and we are searching for an additional Float Direct Support Professionals to serve as a flexible resource to our sites located in Rochester and the surrounding areas. Extensive training will be provided to ensure a successful transition between sites

This versatile and highly adaptive team will relieve short-staffed programs and be utilized to fill in for DSP time off requests/medical leaves. This Rochester based team will also support programs located in Chatfield, Mantorville, Austin, Spring Valley and Red Wing.

• Classification: Nonexempt (hourly)
• Expected Hours of Work: Guaranteed 35 variable hours per week (daypm shifts); 2 weekends per month required. Your work schedule will be determined a minimum of two weeks in advance.
• Salary: $22.00/hour for all awake hours
• Travel: Must be able to travel to all locations listed above. Eligible for Mileage Reimbursement for programs exceeding 30 miles from the Wellner Drive main office.

Qualifications:

• Flexibility required for shift worked and clientele served.
• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to pass a MN Criminal Background Screen
• Hold a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record; have reliable transportation and proof of current car insurance.
• Rochester based Float DSp shall have essential physical skills - be able to walk, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, be able to lift at least 50 pounds, push and pull against potential resistance, and be able to implement non-physical and physical interventions with people supported when needed.
• Due to the safety and regulatory requirements, and the need to communicate and supervise our clients, an applicant must have adequate vision, reading, writing, and documentation skills and comprehension of the English language.
• An applicant must also be able to perform the essential functions of the position (personal cares, behavior, etc.) for all departments included in the identified geographical area supported.

• Preference given to staff possessing a minimum of one year's prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
