Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Detroit Metropolitan Area for a Body CAE FEA Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for performing finite element analysis (FEA) simulations to evaluate structural integrity, optimize vehicle body designs, and ensure compliance with performance standards. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing technical reports, proposing design solutions, and analyzing test data to improve vehicle safety, durability, and NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) characteristics.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software such as HyperWorks, Abaqus, ANSA, or LS-DYNA
  • Experience with automotive body design, structural integrity analysis, and optimization
  • Knowledge of materials engineering and their application in automotive body structures
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with NVH, crashworthiness, or durability testing
  • Proficient in technical documentation, reporting, and communication
  • Collaboration and teamwork abilities within cross-functional environments
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, or related field)
  • Experience with vehicle development processes and safety standards is a plus
  • Familiarity with programming skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar) is beneficial
