Summary/Objective
The Associate Buyer supports the purchasing team in sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, components, and services essential to manufacturing operations. This role ensures timely availability of suppliers at competitive costs while maintaining inventory levels and supplier relationships. The functions of this position will help support production, warehouse, and quality teams to allow timely delivery to customers.
Essential Functions
- Create and issue POs within the ERP system and follow them through until delivery.
- Monitor stock levels and safety stocks to ensure the correct inventory is available when needed.
- Communicate effectively across all departments on product timing and arrivals.
- Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships in a professional and responsible manner.
- Analyze industry trends to support sales and customers in innovation goals.
- Track supplier performance and resolve delivery delays and invoice discrepancies.
- Collaborate cross functionally to align on forecasting and material needs.
- Assist with other purchasing initiatives as needed or required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time salaried position
Travel
Travel is necessary at times during key customer and vendor meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Business or a related field is desired, however, will consider relevant years of experience in lieu of education
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point is required
Work Environment
The work environment varies between the office, production plant, and warehouses. At times while in the plant you may be exposed to allergens, powered equipment, and loud noises.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must be able to sit for the duration of the shift, lift up to 25 pounds daily, bend, twist, stand, and work on a computer daily.
