***This is an internal recruitment open to all Wake County Government employees, contractors and temporary employees.***

We're looking for a motivated leader to guide a dynamic frontline team at the Wake County Departure Regional Center. As the Administrative Supervisor, you'll oversee five Customer Service Representatives and two temporary staff who are the welcoming faces of our organization. Together, you'll ensure smooth daily operations in a fast-paced reception area that serves as the gateway for customers seeking vital community services.

In this role, you'll support a team that helps customers access programs such as Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), Medicaid, Energy Assistance, Revenue, Register of Deeds, Clinical and Mental Health Services, Pharmacy, Child Care Subsidy, and more. Our center also features a large self-service computer area and user-friendly kiosks where customers can scan and submit documents—making your team's guidance even more impactful.

What You'll Do as an Administrative Supervisor

Lead and support a team with diverse responsibilities, providing coaching and guidance as needed

Ensure full coverage of all service areas, even during staff absences

Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency

Create and maintain clear process documentation, and train new team members

Participate in leadership meetings and build strong partnerships with supervisors in FNS, Medicaid, Energy, and other program areas to stay aligned on process changes

Develop work plans, assign tasks, and manage resources to meet operational goals

Make timely, informed decisions that consider available information, constraints, and potential outcomes

Monitor staff performance, offer constructive feedback, and provide technical supervision

Communicate effectively and collaborate as a key member of a high-performing team

Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

Associate's degree

Two years of job-related experience

Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

Supervisory experience within a human services agency or program

Strong programmatic and technical knowledge of Health and Human Services and other Wake County Government departments

Experience with revenue collection or other cash-handling duties

Proficiency in NCFAST, OnBase, or similar case and document management systems

Customer service experience in a social services or health services environment
