Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to support our New York City operations. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in electrical power and lighting systems, especially in medium-voltage substation and distribution work, as well as projects in pharmaceuticals, hospitals, and/or data centers. This role will contribute directly to estimating efforts, support project management, and collaborate with internal teams to achieve organizational goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop estimates and proposals for electrical power and lighting systems.
• Apply strong technical expertise in electrical system estimating.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs.
• Build comprehensive estimates, assigning accurate labor and material values.
• Obtain pricing from vendors for specialty materials, equipment, and systems.
• Assist in lead estimate reviews and monitor cost trends and bid comparisons.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor scopes and pricing.
• Support preparation and review of contract scope changes and field change orders.
• Participate in project kick-off and turnover meetings.
• Occasionally travel to field locations as needed.
• Maintain regular, reliable on-site attendance.

Position Requirements

• 10+ years of experience estimating electrical construction projects.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Strong background in electrical power and lighting; experience with medium-voltage distribution, pharmaceuticals, hospitals, or data centers is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Experience with both hard-bid and conceptual estimating.
• Familiarity with ConEst estimating software preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
