Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Hair Stylist to join our dynamic salon team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hair styling, color theory, and customer service, with the ability to create customized looks that enhance each client's unique style. This role involves providing a full range of hair services, including extensions, balayage, and special treatments, while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment. Experience with salon software such as MINDBODY and retail sales is a plus. The successful candidate will be committed to sanitation standards, ongoing education, and delivering exceptional client experiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform various hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, and treatments tailored to client preferences
• Apply hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and hair threading as needed
• Utilize salon software such as MINDBODY for appointment scheduling and client management
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas according to industry regulations
• Provide excellent customer service by understanding client needs and offering professional recommendations
• Upsell retail products such as hair care, makeup, nail care, and styling tools to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
• Assist with front desk duties including scheduling appointments and managing walk-in clients
• Mentor junior staff or apprentices to promote skill development within the team
• Stay current on industry trends in hair styling, color techniques, and product knowledge

Skills

• Proficiency in hair styling techniques including cutting, coloring, and special treatments
• Experience with hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and nail care is preferred
• Knowledge of salon software systems like MINDBODY for booking and client records management
• Strong understanding of color theory for customized coloring services
• Ability to operate salon equipment safely while maintaining sanitation standards
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
• Retail sales experience with upselling techniques to increase product sales
• Basic store management skills are a plus for those interested in supervisory roles
• Skilled in makeup application and barbering techniques such as straight razor shaves are advantageous
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while providing personalized service
