The Lodge at Historic Lewes is looking for a hands-on Facilities Director who is ready to tackle routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Description of responsibilities:

  • Assist governmental services during inspections
  • Oversee total operation and maintenance of the community
  • Supervise maintenance of the community buildings ensuring they meet or exceed company standards
  • Collect, prioritize, and assign work orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist with the development of the capital project budget and annual maintenance budget
  • Oversee construction, remodeling, and maintenance of all community buildings
  • Oversee and manage maintenance contracts, electrical systems, phone systems, fire panels, emergency response systems, and disaster preparedness
  • Develop vendor relationships and negotiate contracts
  • Evaluate equipment needs and make purchase requests
  • Ensure apartments are ready for occupancy prior to scheduled move-ins
  • Oversee preventative maintenance program
  • Lead Safety Committee
  • Process and submit monthly expenses
  • Schedule maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry teammates
  • Drive company vehicles as needed
  • On-call for maintenance emergencies

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Technical school education preferred
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience as a Facilities/ Maintenance Director required preferably in senior living

Required skills:

  • Must have technical knowledge (such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance) and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment and possess a knowledge of construction principles
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, and life and safety regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents
  • Interest in working with a senior population
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Good judgement, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to work independently
