Porter's Day Care and Educational Center is a private family owned and operated educational facility that services children from ages 6 months to 12 years of age. We have an accredited program through NAEYC, and ranked 4 out of 4 stars by the Keystone Stars Program. We are also a Philadelphia School District of Philadelphia partner site and have been servicing our families and our community for over 45 years.
We are currently searching for Head Start Assistant Teachers, who can assist in creating and managing an attractive, warm, and challenging educational environment for young children.
Candidates should also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, positive discipline practices, be a team player and provide support to the Lead Teacher with the daily lessons and activites in the classroom environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that promote early childhood education.
- Manage classroom activities and maintain a positive learning environment for preschool students.
- Provide individualized support to children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with staff to develop and enhance curriculum and educational programs.
All candidates interested in the Head Start/Pre-K Assistant Teacher position should possess:
- C.D.A. or,
- Highly Qualified status as determined by the School District of Philadelphia, or
- 30 college credits with a minimum of 9 college credits in ECE or related field; AND
- a minimum of 2- 5 years of verifiable experience, and a willingness to grow by completing a minimum of 27 clock hours annually and additional training as needed.
All interested candidates must be able to work a minimum of 25-35 hours per week.
