Building/Facility Operations

Overview
Westport LLC, America's premier luxury yacht builder, located in the beautiful Pacific North West is looking for a hands on supervisor for - building and equipment maintenance and repairs, facilities upgrade, heavy lift operations and reconfiguration projects to support the production of luxury yachts while fostering and maintaining a safe engaging work environment.

Essential Job Functions: Supervise and work with the building Operations team to;

• Operate and maintain a variety of mechanical equipment to include vehicles, material handling equipment, cranes and other powered industrial trucks.
• Maintain facility water, electrical, compressed air, HVAC, fire suppression and waste systems.
• Perform rough construction tasks such as the erection of staging and scaffolding.
• Perform rough carpentry functions for building and grounds maintenance as required.
• Perform grounds upkeep and landscaping operation and maintenance for facility.
• Complete daily job assignments in a timely manner.

Additional Job Functions

• Work closely with the production management team to find cost effective solutions for maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
• Oversee outside contractor work as it pertains to building operations and maintenance.
• Expected to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules and departmental needs.
• Develop and maintain a PM schedule.
• Communicate and work closely with management and human resources in personnel hiring, rewarding, discipline and termination processes.
• Ensure that Building Ops employees are adequately trained to successfully complete their tasks.
• Will be expected to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules and departmental needs.
• Respond to building alarm and power outages as needed including outside of normal working hours.
• Manage the personnel schedule for opening and closing of production buildings.

Requirements

• Broad, hands on experience in a Building and Equipment Maintenance field.
• Good shop math, reading and communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal, written and pictorial instructions.
• Function as a part of an effective team.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Valid Driver's License.

Other Preferred Skills/Abilities

• Prior experience in the boat-building industry.
• Experience and/or training in commercial/industrial electrical field.

Working Conditions

The work environment varies including indoor and outside settings, all types of weather and the presence of strong chemical odors.

Safety Requirements: Westport Yachts is a drug free work place, including marijuana and THC products. Any offer of employment is contingent on negative pre-employment drug screen results.

• Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, safety glasses, hard hat and or a respirator may need to be worn when handling hazardous products or working in hazardous environments.
• Maintain and participate in keeping personal work area, shop and tools clean and in proper working order to ensure safe working environment.
• Hazardous materials are used in the production process. Employees must follow all safety guidelines and know evacuation procedures, the location of first aid stations and SDS folders.
• Move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
