Summary
Must demonstrate experience in creating delicious pastries, desserts, and baked goods. Must be able to work quickly and meticulously under pressure.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Preparation of all pastry dishes and baked goods.
- Adhere to set recipes and taste-test for quality assurance.
- Provide exquisite presentation and plating techniques.
- Ensure all pastries are uniform and up to standard.
- Source and select necessary pastry ingredients and discard expired goods.
- Organize and store needed tools and materials (food or otherwise).
- Maintain and count inventory and work toward cost reduction methods.
- Demonstrate proficiency in creation of signature desserts and pastries.
- Stay current and informed of useful culinary trends.
- Adhere to all sanitation, safety, and food preparation laws and regulations.
- Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.
- Must be 21 years of age, or older.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- A minimum two (2) years in a bakery role or similar position.
- Associates Degree in Culinary Arts, baking or pastry arts considered a plus but not required.
- Advanced knowledge in traditional pastry techniques.
- Firm understanding and practical application of health and safety standards and laws.
- Possess strong interpersonal and organization skills.
- Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
- Must be able to work any day of the week and scheduled shift.
- Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
Certificates, licenses and registration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
- Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Required to have a valid Riverside County Food Handler Card and / or ServSafe Certification, or obtain same upon hiring.
- TIPS certification, which can be obtained through on-site courses.
