Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your HR career by supporting the department's daily operations.

In this role, you will receive training to handle administrative duties, employee support, and compliance tasks. You will also have the unique opportunity to learn and support Workers' Compensation coordination, helping us manage claims and safety reporting.

Key Responsibilities:Workers' Compensation Support:

  • Intake & Tracking: Assist with the intake, documentation, and timely submission of workers' compensation claims. Track claim progress and update internal logs to ensure we meet reporting deadlines.
  • Communication: Serve as a point of contact for injured employees, managers, and the insurance carrier to ensure timely communication.
  • Coordination: Help coordinate medical evaluations and return-to-work processes in collaboration with management.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized workers' compensation files in compliance with regulations.
  • Safety: Assist with incident investigations by collecting statements and preparing preliminary documentation for HR review.

HR Administration & Operations:

  • Data Entry: Learn to review and enter employee data into the HRIS database with high accuracy.
  • File Management: Maintain accurate employee records, including new hire packets, performance evaluations, and training documentation.
  • Employee Service: Sort and distribute HR emails and provide professional responses to basic employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
  • Events: Assist in planning and executing company events, such as employee recognition gatherings and monthly celebrations.

Compliance:

  • Unemployment: Monitor unemployment claims by verifying employee status and completing required forms.
  • Reporting: Support the team with ad hoc HR reporting, audits, and compliance requests.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in an office environment or Human Resources (Internships included).
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) is required. Familiarity with HR/HRIS software (ADP, Dayforce HRIS) is a plus.
  • Workers' Comp: Previous experience with workers' compensation is a plus, but not required; we are looking for a willingness to learn this process.
  • Soft Skills:
  • High attention to detail and strong data entry accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
