We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Picker/Packer to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking items from warehouse shelves and meticulously packing them for shipment. Your attention to detail is crucial to ensure that orders are fulfilled correctly and that products arrive at their destination in perfect condition. This position requires a proactive approach to warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining high standards of productivity and quality. You will work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily shipping targets and contribute to the overall success of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from designated warehouse locations using an RF scanner or pick list.
- Inspect items for damage before packing.
- Package items securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate shipping materials.
- Label packages accurately with shipping information.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed, such as cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Communicate any stock discrepancies or issues to supervisors promptly.
- Understand and follow all company policies and procedures related to order fulfillment and safety.
- Be prepared to assist in other warehouse areas as operational needs dictate, supporting the broader logistics function.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a picking or packing role is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic reading and comprehension skills.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
