Our Columbus, Ohio facility is seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to manage the incoming flow of goods. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and organizing all incoming shipments. Your role is critical in ensuring that our inventory records are precise and that all received products meet quality standards. You will work closely with suppliers, drivers, and internal warehouse staff to streamline the receiving process. This position requires strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. - Receive and unload incoming freight, verifying packing slips against purchase orders.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, defects, and quantity accuracy.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Generate and process receiving reports and labels.
- Stage received goods for proper put-away or further processing.
- Coordinate with vendors and carriers regarding delivery schedules and discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing and lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
