We are seeking experienced Forklift Operators to join our thriving logistics center in Portland, Oregon. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is critical to our warehouse operations, ensuring timely movement of goods and maintaining inventory integrity. You will play a key part in our distribution process, contributing to the overall success of our logistics network. We are committed to providing a secure and productive work environment, emphasizing Safety above all else and providing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper stacking and securing of goods.
- Retrieve and deliver inventory to designated locations for picking or shipping.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Accurately record movement of goods using scanners or inventory management systems.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to all Safety guidelines.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on Safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Participate in ongoing training to improve skills and knowledge of logistics operations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational targets.
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including significant Lifting and maneuvering of heavy items.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety regulations and best practices.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners and warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment, often with demanding schedules.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to Safety.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
