We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming goods into our warehouse. Your attention to detail is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring a smooth flow of operations. This is a key position within our logistics chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Accurately record received goods into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and prepare incoming inventory for put-away.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment for moving received goods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, following all logistics safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Assist with inventory control tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and inspection.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks, up to 50 lbs, using safe lifting methods.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and WMS software.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to wear required PPE and follow safety protocols.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Understanding of basic logistics and inventory management principles.
