Our growing logistics operations in Madison, Wisconsin, are seeking a thorough and dependable Receiving Clerk. As the initial point of contact for all incoming goods, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. Your responsibilities include meticulously unloading, inspecting, and documenting all shipments, verifying them against orders. This role requires a strong commitment to detail and the ability to manage a physically demanding workload, including significant lifting. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies promptly, maintaining the efficiency of our supply chain. Safety is our top priority, and all associates must strictly adhere to our safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE. We are looking for an organized, responsible individual eager to contribute to our success in the logistics sector. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload all incoming freight and deliveries.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or overages, ensuring accuracy against documentation.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Enter receiving data accurately into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Tag and prepare inventory for put-away or staging.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the receiving department.
- Operate manual pallet jacks and other handling equipment safely.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal logistics staff to resolve issues.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned to support overall logistics operations.
Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is highly desirable. Must be capable of regular lifting up to 50 pounds. Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of accuracy. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. A proven commitment to safety is essential. Must be at least 18 years of age.
