We have an immediate opening for a skilled Forklift Operator in our Baltimore, Maryland warehouse. This position is crucial for maintaining the efficient flow of goods by safely operating forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials. The successful candidate will possess a strong safety record, excellent operating skills, and a commitment to contributing to our fast-paced logistics operations. You will play a key role in inventory management, loading/unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are staged correctly for outbound shipments. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve inventory within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper placement and security of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas, such as storage racks and production zones.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with safety standards.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock taking.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Follow warehouse and logistics protocols to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse management and team members regarding material handling tasks.
- Participate in ongoing safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- In-depth understanding of warehouse safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with RF scanners and inventory management systems is a plus.
