Our busy logistics hub in Seattle, Washington is looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our team. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring all shipments are accurately logged, inspected, and processed into our inventory system. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. You will work closely with suppliers, transportation companies, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies and ensure a smooth flow of goods into the warehouse. We pride ourselves on a safe working environment and provide all necessary training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in the logistics field.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight efficiently and safely.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips, checking for damage and discrepancies.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label received items appropriately for storage.
- Communicate any shipping errors or damages to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Stage goods for put-away or direct distribution.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety protocols and guidelines.
- Assist with inventory audits as needed.
- Ensure the proper use of all required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including some Lifting.
- Understanding of basic logistics processes.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
