Background

HelpWear is an exciting clinical-stage startup who is pioneering a new type of heart monitoring system that will identify patients who are at a high risk of suffering a massively debilitating event such as a stroke or syncopal episode (faint/fall due to loss of consciousness). Many of these patients only have random and sporadic cardiac abnormalities, so we are developing the first device that can be comfortably worn as long as needed to ensure that the next actionable event is recorded. After being placed on the patient's upper arm, the HeartWatch continuously records medical-grade electrocardiogram (ECG) signals that give doctors the information they need to make the best treatment decisions to protect their patients. HelpWear was founded out of (and is still based in) St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Ontario and has a second office based in the University of Calgary's Life Science Innovation Hub. We're currently a team of ~25 and are looking to find more talented individuals who share our passion for improving patient lives
