Our generative AI?powered products bring joy back to the practice of medicine. We are looking for experienced backend software engineers to join our US?based engineering team. You will be an inaugural member of a new team forming to build the data and processing foundations needed to support continued growth. Your primary work will involve TypeScript and Node, and you will deploy on platforms such as Kubernetes and Temporal. What Youll Do Design, build, and support robust cloud?native applications, services, and APIs for our rapidly?growing business. Sample projects might include building a new processing pipeline or overhauling our data storage services to support increasing scale. Research commercial and open?source solutions, and make build?vs?buy recommendations to bring new capabilities into the organization. Enhance existing systems to add new functionality, and improve performance, stability, quality, and security. Make quality?of?life improvements to the codebase, and help limit the growth of technical debt. Build deep user empathy and maintain a user?centric mindset. Communicate regularly and effectively within and on behalf of cross?functional product delivery teams, collaborating with product, machine learning, and platform engineering disciplines.
What Youll Bring
7+ years of software engineering experience with either: (1) a proven track record of rapidly mastering new technologies and languagesyou're the engineer who can pick up TypeScript/Node quickly, or (2) deep specialization in Node.js backend developmenthaving built complex, scalable Node?based systems. Passion for engineering excellence, and a love for data and architecture. Experience building and deploying a complex backend system utilizing Temporal or Kafka at scale. Several years of experience building software for a regulated environment, with an understanding of trade?offs required for compliance with regulations such as HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST. Knowledge of industry best practices and trends, and an enjoyment of learning new things. Willingness to pitch in wherever neededstartup pace demands quick, decisive action. Strong plus for ability and desire to work in San Francisco or New York on a hybrid basis.
Location and Work Model
Must be willing to work from our San Francisco office at least 3 times per week. This position requires a hybrid work model, with the expectation of coming into the office a minimum of three times per week.
