Shop Administrator

Brian Kurtz Trucking Ltd is an award winning, family owned and operated transportation company in business for more than 44 years. We are located on the outskirts of Guelph and are large enough to service our customers but small enough that we know all of our employees by name. We are looking for an individual to join our Shop team, full-time. 2 years experience within the trucking industry is required.

What you will do:

• Allocate technician's hours, while prioritizing required repairs;
• Schedule Annual and PM maintenance on all equipment, as required;
• Take Driver's calls and handle reported issues or breakdowns;
• Process receipts, order requisitions and ensure parts are coded properly;
• Provide weekly expense and labour reports to the Accounting Department;
• Ensure work orders are opened/closed accurately;
• Report accident/incident costs for damaged equipment to Safety and assist in maintaining Accident Spreadsheet;
• Maintain equipment files per company policies and MTO requirements;
• Maintain purchase order system to track parts, ensure competitive pricing and to ensure order requirements are filled;
• Enter truck, trailer, shop, employee and 3rd party invoices in Quick Books software;
• Make arrangements with Dispatch for trucks and trailers as needed;
• Assist with breakdowns;
• Lead and produce year end reports for audit;
• Maintain current list of vehicles;
• Other duties and tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• 2 years experience ordering and maintaining parts inventory would be an asset;
• Detailed mechanical understanding of tractor and trailer parts;
• Must be able to read exploded diagrams;
• Computer literate in MS Word and Excel;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Effective time management skills;
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
