We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk for our busy warehouse in New York City, New York. This role is fundamental to our inventory control and Logistics operations, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately received, inspected, and documented. You will be responsible for managing the receiving dock, verifying shipments against purchase orders, and reporting any discrepancies. A strong attention to detail and a commitment to Safety are paramount for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments.
- Verify incoming merchandise against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document all received goods accurately in the inventory management system.
- Identify and report any damages, shortages, or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Stage received goods for put-away or distribution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts for moving materials.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other warehouse departments to ensure efficient Logistics flow.
- Assist with inventory audits and stocktaking as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, up to 40 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Willingness to consistently wear and utilize required PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of general Logistics and supply chain principles is beneficial.
