Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our growing logistics team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier regulations. As a Shipping Clerk, you will prepare shipping documents, verify shipment contents against orders, coordinate with shipping carriers, and maintain organized shipping records. Key responsibilities include generating shipping labels, creating bills of lading, scheduling pickups, and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery. You will also be responsible for inspecting packages for damage and ensuring proper packaging and labeling standards are met. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential, as is the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Safety is a core value; you will be trained on proper handling procedures and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment. While this role is primarily administrative, some light lifting and movement of packages may be required. A solid understanding of shipping software and logistics processes is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process all outgoing shipment documentation, including labels and bills of lading.
  • Verify the accuracy of orders being shipped against documentation.
  • Coordinate with various shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
  • Maintain organized and accurate shipping records, both physical and digital.
  • Inspect packages to ensure they are properly sealed, labeled, and in good condition.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
  • Assist with inventory checks and cycle counting as needed.
  • Resolve shipping discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
  • Proficiency with shipping software (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip) and carrier portals.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics flow.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
