As a Senior Solutions Architect at EMSOU you will oversee the design, build, and operation of scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions on several platforms. You will have experience of cloud fundamentals including deployment methods, security of cloud solutions, cost management, and use these to improve the infrastructures deployed and managed for EMSOU workloads. You will be responsible for a growing team of technical experts and work closely with colleagues across the five East Midlands forces to deliver solutions fundamental to achieving the ambitions of the National Policing Digital Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Work to design and develop digital solutions based on what the business requires, working with solutions architects and project resources to implement the technology to enable the business transformation.
Engage with the business to engender an environment where people recognise and exploit business opportunities to ensure more efficient and effective performance and exploitation of IT services used by EMSOU, regional forces, and partners.
Design, monitor and deliver an IT work programme that will support the strategic digital direction of the organisation.
Assist and advise users and criminal justice partners with the modification of business processes to maximise the potential benefits of new and existing systems taking into account current business and Digital Data and Technology strategy.
The must haves
Qualified to a degree level in a Computer Science, Information Technology or other technology related subject. Or equivalent qualifications and experience, such as MBCS or significant IT experience.
Knowledge of cloud architecture, preferably AWS, Azure or other major cloud service providers.
Experience of strategising, conceptualising and identifying solutions on IT infrastructure, including physical systems, virtual systems and cloud platforms (such as Azure and AWS).
Experience of supervising teams in implementing systems and services that conform to the requirements of internal and external security standards (e.g. relevant British and ISO standards, Cyber Essentials, etc).

£68,901 - Fixed Salary
For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro‑rated basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
The force is undertaking Hays Job Evaluation scheme; therefore the advertised grade may be subject to change.
