Join our team in Washington, D.C. as an Inventory Control Specialist and be the guardian of our warehouse's stock integrity. This vital role ensures that our inventory records are accurate, enabling efficient operations and preventing stockouts or overstock situations. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and investigating discrepancies between physical stock and system records. Your sharp attention to detail will be key in identifying root causes of inventory inaccuracies and implementing corrective actions. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory management principles, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software. You will collaborate closely with warehouse associates, logistics coordinators, and management to maintain optimal inventory levels and improve overall warehouse efficiency. Safety is a top priority, and you will ensure all inventory handling and storage practices comply with safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The ability to perform occasional lifting of inventory items and operate material handling equipment safely is also a part of this role. We are looking for a proactive individual who can identify areas for improvement in inventory processes and contribute to a more streamlined and effective logistics operation. Responsibilities include: performing regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory variances, maintaining accurate inventory records in the WMS, monitoring stock levels, reporting on inventory accuracy and trends, assisting with receiving and put-away processes, and ensuring proper storage and organization of all warehouse stock. A commitment to upholding high standards of safety and operational excellence is essential.
