Our fast-paced logistics facility in Durham, North Carolina, is looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to designated areas, and ensuring inventory is stored correctly. You will operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies, to facilitate the smooth flow of products through the supply chain. A commitment to safety, adherence to operational procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are paramount. This is a physically demanding role that requires stamina and precision in handling materials. Your efforts directly contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including put-away and replenishment.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
- Inspect equipment before and after use.
- Communicate any issues or delays to supervisors promptly.
- Support overall warehouse operations as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification to operate forklifts or other relevant equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform tasks involving significant lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes demanding environment.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
