We have an exciting opportunity for a diligent Shipping Clerk at our busy logistics hub in Columbus, Ohio. This position is key to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that packages meet all destination requirements. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify that package contents match order details and shipping manifests.
- Ensure all packages are properly packed, sealed, and labeled for transit.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS) effectively.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Conduct regular checks of shipping supplies and reorder as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Assist with receiving operations when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
