Join our dedicated logistics team as a Shipping Clerk in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched on time. You will be the last point of contact for many of our products before they reach our customers, making attention to detail and organizational skills paramount. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation for all outgoing orders.
- Verify the accuracy of orders before packaging and shipping.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas.
- Track shipments and resolve any delivery issues.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and tape machines.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to prevent damage during transit.
- Assist with receiving incoming shipments as needed.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands, including moderate Lifting.
- Familiarity with shipping carrier requirements and procedures.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
