We are looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for implementing and managing inventory control procedures, conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring optimal stock levels. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and profitability of our logistics operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of warehouse management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Manage and maintain the warehouse management system (WMS) for inventory accuracy.
- Oversee stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and ensure product freshness and quality.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder points, coordinating with purchasing as needed.
- Ensure proper organization and placement of inventory within the warehouse.
- Train and guide other warehouse staff on inventory control procedures.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of required PPE, to maintain a secure and accident-free environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Good communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Must be committed to workplace safety and properly use PPE.
