Our logistics company is looking for an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to manage outgoing shipments in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Verify package contents against order details.
- Coordinate with carriers for package pickup and delivery schedules.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for proper packaging and condition.
- Operate shipping software and manifest systems.
- Maintain organized shipping areas.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Troubleshoot shipping discrepancies and report them to management.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficient in using computers and scanning equipment. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly. Excellent communication skills. A commitment to safety and attention to detail is essential. Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices is a plus. We offer training in our specific shipping procedures and safety protocols. Experience with different shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS) is beneficial. Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a dynamic warehouse setting. This role requires meticulous record-keeping.
