We are looking for a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Detroit, Michigan. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of goods within the warehouse and ensuring timely order fulfillment. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on operational excellence and a safe working environment. Experience with various types of forklifts and a strong understanding of warehouse logistics are required. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move pallets, raw materials, and finished goods within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Stack and arrange merchandise in designated storage areas.
- Perform regular inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting as required.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 70 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and using required PPE.
- Understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
Working Conditions:
This position involves operating heavy machinery in a warehouse environment. The role requires the ability to work in varying temperatures and perform frequent lifting. Strict adherence to safety guidelines and the correct usage of PPE are mandatory to ensure a secure and productive workplace. Safety is our top priority in all aspects of our logistics operations.
