We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Technologist to join our healthcare team *part time from 11am-7pm*. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in performing laboratory tests and analyses that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
*REQUIREMENTS:*
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology required. After orientation, up to six month’s experience on this job is required to perform essential functions.
*Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP or NCA required.*
*Duties*
* Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and analyses on patient specimens to provide accurate results for diagnostic purposes.
* Perform phlebotomy procedures for blood sampling, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
* Manage specimen collection processing, including labeling, tracking, and preparing samples for analysis.
* Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results and contribute to patient care decisions.
* Maintain accurate data management systems for tracking laboratory results and patient information.
* Participate in quality control measures to ensure the reliability of test results.
* Engage in research laboratory activities as needed, contributing to ongoing studies and advancements in medical technology.
*Skills*
* Proficient in phlebotomizing techniques and blood sampling procedures.
* Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols.
* Familiarity with taking vital signs and understanding their implications in patient care.
* Experience in laboratory management practices to ensure efficient operations.
* Ability to process specimens accurately and efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines.
* Knowledge of blood banking processes and regulations is a plus.
* Excellent data management skills for maintaining accurate records and reports.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality results.
* Effective communication skills for collaborating with medical staff and providing clear information.
