Our client is seeking an Account Director to join their team of high performers.   As a leading, global integrated marketing and media agency specializing in the lifestyle, entertainment, toy and gaming spaces. The firm connects over 45 employees based in Toronto, New Jersey, Florida and Los Angeles who share the same passion for PR and marketing. 
This Account Director should be familiar with fandom (comic con, fan expo, etc.) and will lead and execute innovative PR and marketing plans for clients that deliver, fresh, fun ideas and campaigns driving brand awareness and engagement. With the support of associates, the Account Director is a hands-on role expected to actively work on planning, pitching and day-to-day marketing activity required to successfully deliver on client objectives.
In this role, you will work closely with clients, direct reports, executive, as well as members of the social, creative and paid media teams to deliver meaningful and impactful PR and marketing results for clients. Agency clients are in the business of entertainment and play, they take pride in bringing that sense of fun and excitement to everything they do.
You will work closely with senior leadership team and function as the primary contact for clients. You understand how to build strong relationships through an immersive understanding of their brand, industry, competition and marketing challenges. You provide exemplary client service, delivering on business, strategic and creative goals. You will also participate in managing contract clients and building relationships with one-off accounts.
Reporting to the VP Marketing & Communications, the ideal candidate will be based in Toronto (though we are flexible and open to other locations) and will combine creativity and deep analytical skills to identify and respond to key business performance indicators to drive audience growth and engagement in our online communities. You will have a proven track-record of leading and growing digital products through all facets of the product lifecycle. You will have experience developing testing strategies, business cases and operational experience rolling out changes to digital products. You'll be comfortable working in a matrix structure, communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and cultivating strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Responsible for the customer voice as you work with design, technical and business leaders you'll set strategy and define the user experience across all of the online communities and prioritize your efforts to achieve the greatest results.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute innovative PR and marketing plans for clients that deliver fresh, fun ideas and campaigns driving brand awareness and engagement
  • Client management - understanding client needs, managing expectations, and keeping the client informed on strategy and progress
  • With the support of associates, the Account Director is a hands-on role expected to actively work on planning, pitching and day-to-day marketing activity required to successfully deliver on client objectives.
  • Ongoing media relations and influencer marketing strategy, management, and execution; focused primarily on the US market.
  • Oversee social media channels, content, and community for key client brands with the support of social and creative staff.
  • Help align integrated marketing plans amongst PR, social, digital, and creative team members to help deliver impactful results for clients across tactics and channels
  • Budgeting
  • Researching industry topic trends and competitive analysis to stay informed, relevant, and able to bring fresh ideas and thinking to planning
  • Monthly reporting
  • Other duties as required
  • Requirements:
  • 7+ years working in a Public Relations/Marketing role; agency experience is preferred
  • At least 3 years in a management role
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience in the consumer products/entertainment/toy space or working on brands in the kid/family space would be considered an asset
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional client management skills
  • Ability to managing multiple client projects at one time
  • Able to manage a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent time management, organizational, analytical, and logistical support skills
  • Ability to self-manage workload and the motivation to grow with evolving job criteria and challenges

  • Compensation:
  • Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience (range $100k -115k)
