System & Network Administrator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Administrator to oversee and maintain our organization's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of computer networking, operating systems, cloud services, and scripting to support our evolving technological environment. The Network Administrator will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize network performance, and implement new solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPNs, and cloud-based networks using AWS, Azure, and VMware technologies.
• Maintain and troubleshoot network hardware and software components such as routers, switches, firewalls, DNS servers, and VPN gateways.
• Monitor network performance using various tools; identify bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities; implement necessary improvements.
• Manage operating systems including Windows and Linux servers; perform updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Administer database systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, NoSQL databases; optimize queries and ensure data integrity.
• Configure and maintain virtualization platforms like VMware ESXi and Kubernetes clusters for scalable deployment.
• Develop automation scripts using Bash (Unix shell), Python, Shell Scripting, or PowerShell to streamline operations.
• Implement security protocols including firewall rules, VPN configurations, and DNS management to safeguard organizational data.
• Collaborate with development teams to support DevOps practices utilizing tools like Git, Jenkins, REST APIs, and T-SQL scripting.
• Document network configurations and procedures; provide technical support to staff regarding connectivity issues or system upgrades.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role with extensive knowledge of computer networking principles.
• Hands-on experience managing cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Strong familiarity with operating systems including Windows Server and various Linux distributions.
• Proficiency in database management systems like SQL Server (T-SQL), MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle; experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi and Kubernetes environments.
• Skilled in scripting languages including Bash (Unix shell), Python, Shell Scripting; experience with DevOps tools like Git and Jenkins is preferred.
• Knowledge of networking protocols including DNS, REST APIs, VPN setup/configuration; understanding of JavaScript for related integrations is advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
